Not too long ago Obama was elected to bring hope and change to a country that was thirsty for hope and change. With majorities and both houses of Congress the White House set out to at great neck speed to pass a number issues that they had campaigned on.
Speed up to the the 2010 mid terms and the White House has had to strong arm fellow democrats to go get a health care bill through and defend and explain a $700 Billion stimulus that didnt really stimulate the economy. The economy is still sputtering by all accounts and is not likely to change by election day. The combination of the real estate collapse and the banks not lending credit means that many individuals like states will be forced to balance their budgets or go without.
I think that part of the problem was the attitude of the democrats towards the public that the party knows better than the people. Obamas challenge is that he will need to show some results that the American people can see and feel otherwise a well spoken speech usually rings hollow.

With Brown win, Obama agenda upended
Scott Brown took the political world by storm by winning a US Senate seat in Massachusetts which was vacated by the late Senator Ted Kennedy. Massachusetts voters sent a real strong and clear message to Washington that they didn't like what they were doing. With losses in Virginia and New Jersey and now Massachusetts the democrats are now forced to modify their agenda or face severe consequences in the November election. The democrats have always claimed they are for the people and the people have clearly spoken. The American people have said this is enough. The people will no longer allow the democrats to impose their will on the American people. It goes back to the Founding Fathers who wrote the Constitution giving the power to the people not the government. They knew the politicians would become corrupt as they always have.
