Romney is now the nominee

With the exit of Santorum, Mitt Romney is now considered the presumptive nominee. While Gingrich and Paul are still in the race. They are not considered serious contenders to challenge Romney going forward.

Santorum suspends campaign

Fox News confirms that Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign. The Romney campaign's strategy to campaign and defeat Santorum in Pennsylvania. It would have been an embarrassment to Santorum and send a message to the Santorum camp that the primary is over. This also helps Santorum transition from presidential candidate to political activist/consultant.
