Candidates vy for Congressional seats

Presidential candidates are not the only people starting early to get the attention of caucus attendees. At the Issues Conference several candidates vying for congressional seats were there to spread their message about why they should be the next member of congress. State Rep. Randy Demmer and State Senator Dick Day were vying for the republican nomination for the 1st District. currently held by Tim Walz. State Rep. Erik Paulson announced his intent to run for congress in the 3rd District. This seat has been held by republicans for nearly 60 years. Although it has leaned more democrat in recent years but I believe that a strong republican with a good campaign strategy should stave off any attempts by the DFL.
